Rep. Jenifer Loon Receives Parent Aware Champion of the Year Award

ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Friday, December 11, 2015, Representative Jenifer Loon (R-Eden Prairie) received a Minnesota Early Education Leadership Award from Parent Aware for School Readiness, a business-led nonprofit dedicated to improving the school readiness of Minnesota children, especially those most at risk.

Rep. Loon was recognized as a “Champion of the Year” for her persistent and tireless work on behalf of Minnesota children, particularly those of low-income who are most likely to fall into the achievement gap. Parent Aware noted that Rep. Loon was “particularly instrumental in dramatically expanding the Early Learning Scholarships to help low-income children access high quality early education programs.”

“Ensuring every Minnesota child receives a world-class education is one of my top legislative priorities,” said Rep. Loon. “I appreciate Parent Aware’s vital work to prepare young students for lifelong academic success and help close the achievement gap. It’s an honor to receive this recognition, and I will continue to be a strong voice and advocate for improving education in the legislature.”
